PASSPORT FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Passport to the Peak is a small booklet that is all in one guide to the Town of Apex’s 150th anniversary of incorporation and provides a space for each participant to reflect on their own 150th story.

The Passport includes:

  1. A brief overview of Apex’s history and a message from Mayor, Jacques Gilbert
  2. A partial list of activities (See the full list of Ways to Celebrate)
  3. A snapshot of how participants can earn swag (prizes) for activities completed
  4. A “memory collection” space for capturing fun and important moments throughout the celebration year. Participants can fill the section with pictures, receipts, random items, and more to help remember how they celebrated the sesquicentennial!

We no longer have printed Passports in stock but Passports can be printed at home and completed!

Complete the Passport by participating in the Ways to Celebrate offered throughout the entire celebration year. Activities include annual events, special 150th events, historic tours, all in anytime offerings, and more! Passport visa stickers will be available at many activities. Participants can look for the “Visa Checkpoint” sign at in-person events to collect their visa stickers to add to the Passport books.

If you miss the “Visa Checkpoint” location at an in-person activity, no worries! Simply snap a photo or add something to your Memory Collection section in your Passport to show you were there. Then you can collect that activity’s visa sticker at another in-person 150th activity or at one of our scheduled check-ins throughout the celebration year. More details on the check-ins will be communicated through the email used to register your Passport to the Peak.

Participants are eligible to win a swag or prize item with every ten activities completed, up to sixty activities and six prizes!

Swag items include:

  • 10 activities: Peak of Good Living 16 oz glass
  • 20 activities: Peak of Good Living shoelaces and Peak of Good Living 16 oz glass
  • 30 activities: Peak of Good Living ball cap, Peak of Good Living shoelaces, and Peak of Good Living 16 oz glass

After you register your Passport, Town of Apex staff will send a welcome email to the email registered and provide information on four Check-In weeks throughout the celebration year. At the Check-Ins, participants need to bring their Passports to show how many activities they have completed in exchange for the corresponding amount of swag item(s).

There are two more Check-In opportunities during the celebration year. Passport participants need to make sure their passports are registered (do that here). Ahead of Check-In Week, registrants will receive an email with details on where and when to collect their swag.

Some activities may span longer than one day or time offered. Visa stickers are awarded for completion of an activity, not the number of times the activity is completed.

Yes, the Passport to the Peak can be picked up at one of the facilities listed above or by printing this document. Please note: Passports submitted with scanned visas stickers will not be accepted.
