Party in the Peak

The Party in the Peak was a once-in-a-lifetime festival that celebrated the Town of Apex’s 150th anniversary of incorporation!
We transformed the John M. Brown Community Center and the Apex Senior Center (53 Hunter Street) into an interactive museum for all ages and welcomed thousands to the Party.
The Party brought the Apex community together for a great day of unification, common understanding, and celebration. This event was organized by the Town of Apex.
The Party featured:
Interactive exhibits that focused on our past, present, and potential
Gym 1 transformed into a Past exhibit
Attendees viewed large displays of Apex history and items shared by community members. The displays focused on five main categories: agriculture, downtown/small business, childhood play, homemaking, and communities.
Friendship Room transforming into a Present exhibit
Attendees stepped into what makes Apex home by watching over 100 community stories told by community members of all backgrounds
Senior Center Atrium transforming into a Potential exhibit
Many attendees shared their hopes for Apex’s potential by participating in an interactive public art installation and viewing snapshots of adopted plans that will guide our future.
The Senior Center Large Room featured the Apex 150 Stage
Performances included a once-in-a-lifetime kick off by Apex High School and Apex Friendship High School marching bands, local musicians, youth performances, and storytelling from community members.
Gym 2 featured our GovLove kids area
Kids of all ages stepped back in time with unique local government activities and interactive games. The GovLove area showcased how Town jobs serve our community with hands-on activities, challenges, and giveaway prizes!
Departments represented were Building Inspections and Permits, Economic Development, Electric Utilities, Fire, Office of the Town Clerk/Town Council, Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources, Police, Public Works, Transportation and Infrastructure Development, Water Resources.
Food truck hangout of your favorite local trucks
Food trucks at the Party offered specialty Apex 150th menu items and featured a diverse range of cuisines.
