Apex’s Potential
You don’t get to be America’s best place to live by chance or accident. It takes great commitment and vision to create an environment that’s so beloved by those who are fortunate enough to call Apex home. Though the town continues to receive accolades, that doesn’t stop us from continuing to improve upon providing the best services, amenities, and environment for all of our residents, businesses, and visitors.
Apex is always looking forward. We’re dedicated to growing alongside our community, with opportunities for public feedback every step of the way.
Featured below is a sample of the many long-range plans that have been developed with our potential at top of mind:

Vision Zero
In August 2022, Apex Town Council adopted the Vision Zero Action Plan, a comprehensive and holistic approach to achieving the goal of zero fatalities on Apex roadways by 2035.

Advance Apex
Advance Apex was a 20-month planning process conducted between July 2017 and February 2019 that resulted in two plans – a long-range transportation plan and an updated future land use map.

Affordable Housing Plan
The Town of Apex Affordable Housing Plan establishes a vision and goals related to affordable housing, analyzes needs based on existing conditions and trends, and provides recommendations with an action plan for implementation.

Downtown Plan
The Apex Downtown Master Plan and Parking Study (Downtown Plan) establishes a guiding vision for the area inside of the Apex Peakway loop, addresses commercial and residential markets, identifies projects for placemaking and public spaces, and recommends parking strategies.

Bike Apex
In 2017, the Town of Apex was awarded a grant from the North Carolina Department Bike Plan Logo (for web)of Transportation (NCDOT), Division of Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation (DBPT), to develop a comprehensive bicycle plan.
